Rick Popely For more than 30 years, Cars, Trucks and Bucks host Rick Popely has helped consumers save money and find the right car based on price, value, safety and reliability using a practical, no-nonsense approach to buying and owning a vehicle. Popely formerly was senior automotive editor for the Consumer Guide Auto Series, and for 15 years he was in charge of producing buying guides on new and used vehicles and supervised a new-car test program that evaluated more than 200 vehicles per year. He was an award-winning automotive reporter for the Chicago Tribune, covering new products, financial performance of the major car companies, labor negotiations, safety and legal issues, government regulations and trends in consumer behavior. His stories have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Newsday, the Miami Herald, Washington Post and other major newspapers. He also has been a contributing writer to Edmunds.com, Reuters news service, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
