Internationally renowned Irish Tenor Michael Londra, joins Travel’n On to preview his new CD Beyond The Stars and the humanitarian projects that his CD is supporting. We also introduce our new culinary tourism segment, Travel’n Gourmet, with chocolate travel writer Kay Fernandez who has just returned from France to give us a taste of the Paris Chocolate Show. Then fasten your seat belts, veteran airline pilot Capt. Karen Kahn will stop by to give us a birds-eye view from the cockpit and discuss current issues in aviation.

| Michael Londra Michael Londra decided in the early 90s to follow his heart and started singing professionally. His leap of faith was rewarded when he soon became a leading man in musical theater in Dublin playing many roles. US director and choreographer, Larry Fuller asked Michael to play Bobby Kennedy in the world premier of "JFK" where he was noticed by the producers of Riverdance. He was offered the role of lead singer in the US National Tour which included performances at Radio City Music Hall and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In March 2000, Michael again was offered the position of lead singer in the new production of Riverdance on Broadway, taking the role from acclaimed Irish singer Brian Kennedy. This was the platform from which Michael's recording and producing career began. Michael's first album "Celt" was produced by acclaimed producer Steve Skinner who co-produced the Grammy nominated soundtrack of RENT. He appears with Pavarotti, Bocelli, Il Divo, Sarah Brightman and Kathryn Jenkins on the Universal Records Asia 2009 release Arias : Ancora. His recording of Danny Boy was described by The Irish Emigrant in New York as "One of the best recordings of Danny Boy in history." Michael has been very active in yet another role, this time as an ambassador for "Concern Worldwide" Through several cd releases which raised considerable awareness for the charity, and through his high profile visits to Haiti, Michael has helped bring the issue of poverty and hunger to the attention of the public. | Kay Fernandez Award-winning freelance writer Kay Harwell Fernandez is a former magazine editor. Now her primary focus is travel-related writing, especially as it pertains to luxury, cruises, art, culture & history, rail travel, and food & wine. She has traveled throughout the United States and to 44 countries (and counting). Her articles have been published in international, national and regional magazines, newspapers and webzines. She contributed to two National Geographic tabletop books. | Karen Kahn Kahn has been actively involved in the aviation industry for 30+ years. She is one of the nation’s first female commercial pilots hired and one of few pioneers still working. Prior to starting her airline career in 1977, she instructed at the Sierra Academy in Northern California and operated her own weekend ground school teaching Private, Commercial and Instrument courses. She holds ratings through Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), including type ratings on the Boeing 757/767 and McDonnell-Douglas MD-80. She was the first woman to be type-rated in a Lockheed JetStar. Her other ratings include: CFII MEI, Flight Engineer, Turbojet, Seaplane, Helicopter, and the coveted Master CFI (MCFI) designation from the National Association of Flight Instructors. As an author, speaker and career counselor, Captain Kahn also specializes in helping pilots improve their career preparation, and more recently has expanded her business to provide career development beyond aviation.
