Suspense: Back for Christmas In this Suspense episode, "Back for Christmas," Peter Lorre stars as a mild-mannered botany professor in England who has grown increasingly frustrated with his domineering and belittling wife. As the couple prepares for an extended trip to America, where he has accepted a prestigious lecturing position, he secretly begins excavating a deep trench in their home's basement, saying it's for cultivating an exotic orchid--but his true intent is far more sinister. The story was also adapted as a 1956 episode of the TV series "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and was directed by Hitch himself. This radio broadcast was first heard on 12/23/1943.
