Our guest Dale Penn is an author, professional speaker, insurance broker, and privacy management adviser. After encountering, enduring and resolving his own identity theft nightmare, he decided to compile, organize and share the ideas, strategies, tips, and resources that he discovered along the way. The result was his book Identity Theft Secrets. As a former professional magician who knows something about the psychology of misdirection, it frustrated him to no end that a clever thief could essentially beat him at his own game. His personal identity theft ordeal opened the door to the devious world of the modern identity thieves.

Dale Penn I am an author, professional speaker, insurance broker, and privacy management adviser. My company works with organizations to deliver insurance and identity theft services to retailers, financial services firms, HR departments, universities and law enforcement groups. For years, I have incorporated thought-provoking and often humorous magical illusions into my keynotes, seminars and presentations. My early years after college as a full-time professional magician have equipped me to perfect the art of deception, but purely for entertainment purposes! Our media coverage includes Bloomberg, NPR, Reuters, Yahoo News, ABC, CBS, NBC, Seattle Times, Miami Herald, Chicago Business Journal, Dallas Morning News and The Sacramento Bee among others. I’ve been a featured lecturer on the topic of Identity Theft for the National Crime Prevention Council, whose members include local, state and federal law enforcement agencies as well as the investigative and legal staffs of state Attorney Generals throughout the nation. I’m also proud to serve on the Executive Board as a Director for S.O.L.I.D (Supporters Of Law Enforcement In Devonshire). SOLID is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports the work of the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department. My professional experience as a commercial insurance and risk management consultant has allowed me to protect the assets of literally hundreds of corporate clients throughout the United States over the past 20 years. I know a little about identifying, quantifying and mitigating both short and long-term risks. I’m a graduate of Xavier University and I am certified by The Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals. I am also a member of The American Society for Training and Development and the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. My award-winning book Identity Theft Secrets!: Exposing The Tricks Of The Trade, was born out of my own adversity and has won a couple of cool literary awards recognizing it’s timeliness and noteworthy sales potential.
