Her education/parenting manual 4 Keys to College Admissions Success is being published by Morgan James Publishers as a 2014 release, and she is a frequent speaker at live events and offers keynote speeches throughout the greater Los Angeles region and nationwide. Donnelly began her career as a teacher in the early 1990′s, having previously worked as on-camera talent for ABC-TV throughout the 1980′s when she was a soap opera star on All My Children and One Life to Live. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University with a B.A. in Literature and Secondary Education, and also earned her M.A. in Literature. She holds professional licensing as a secondary education specialist in three states - New York, Virginia, and California.
