Randi Redmond Oster Randi Redmond Oster is a writer, engineer and mother who is a passionate advocate for patient management reform. When her 15 year-old son was hospitalized with complications from Crohn’s Disease, Randi’s business skills and maternal compassion kicked into high gear. In the hospital, she used her executive management training, her Six Sigma quality training and her experience in motivating employees to become her son’s best health care advocate. Living alongside her son in the hospital for nearly a month, Randi identified process improvements in the hospital, and wrote a book to help others learn from her experience navigating the health care system. Today her mission is to help others proactively prepare. She is a recognized leader in the Long Term Care insurance industry and is a frequent keynote speaker. Randi earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Union College, and an MBA from Boston University. She is member of the National Association of Health Care Advocacy Consultants and National Association of Financial and Insurance Providers. Oster holds certifications as an LTCP – Long-Term Care Professional, a CLTC – Certified Long-Term Care Professional and a Six Sigma – Black Belt, GE.
