Our guest today is Robert Mays. Together with his wife Suzanne, Robert been thinking about and researching the mind/brain connection for more than 35 years. Besides his role as an officer on the Board of Directors of IANDS, Robert is a former award-winning software engineer for IBM, and has taught chemistry at a number of Waldorf schools.

Despite this background in science, however, he has decided that the traditional scientific way of approaching these questions – investigating the brain’s workings in the physical world as the starting point – leaves too much out of the picture. In this you can’t get there from here realization, Robert and Suzanne have focused on reports of NDEs as the enlightening path toward gaining an understanding of the relationship between brain and mind.

Robert Mays
Robert G. Mays received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA and worked in software development at Eastman Kodak Company and later at IBM Corporation for more than 20 years, where he achieved the level of Senior Software Engineer. At IBM he specialized in software development process, software quality and software defect prevention. He was a co-recipient of IBM's first Corporate Quality Award in 1991. After leaving IBM, he taught high school chemistry for several years at different Waldorf schools in the U.S. and is now retired.
