Jose Hernandez was an electrical engineer, self-described atheist and closed minded skeptic when, at age 46, after a minor accident at work, he was administered medication in the ER that he was severely allergic to. That mundane mistake changed Jose’s life completely; he flatlined for a total of 5 minutes, experiencing a journey that shattered every belief in ‘science’ he had held dear.

Jose’s life changed dramatically as a result of this near-death experience. He endured a long and gruelling physical and emotional recovery, spending years in counselling trying to reconcile what had happened to him. He was introduced to IANDS and finally embraced his experience and new life path. He is now a talented artist and gifted intuitive, his art hangs in permanent installations in healing centres across the US and Canada. Together with his wife, Anastasia, Jose developed the breakthrough mindfulness practice, Inner Immersion, which is engineered to help others shed the layers which keep them from connecting with their true selves, the very self Jose discovered in his NDE. Jose’s art, originally intended for meditation, is created as portals for the healing energy he saw on the other side, bringing that light into the homes and lives of those who experience them here.

Joe Hernandez, a native New Yorker, studied electrical engineering at CCNY. While engineering was his profession and paid the bills, it wasn't an area he felt an affinity with and over the years he found several outlets for his creativity, with photography playing a major role in his life. Joe also founded a sports memorabilia company and a neon lighting company. However, he returned to electrical engineering as his primary line of work.

In the first days of the year 2000, following a mundane accident at work and a simple mistake by hospital staff in the ER department, Joe died twice in one night. Aside from the long term damage sustained to his physical body, Joe had an experience during the more than five minutes that he was clinically dead which changed him profoundly and set him on a new path. He became an ordained Inter-faith minister in 2005 and his passion has been to share some of the valuable, life-changing insights he gained during his experience.

In the subsequent 14 years since his near death experience, Joe created a body of 'therapeutic' art and a new mindfulness modality. The purpose of these healing arts are his attempt to recreate aspects of what he experienced during the minutes he was clinically dead, and to share that life-changing, tranforming and empowering experience with others.

Over the past 14 years, Joe has worked with over 600 clients and has evolved his modality to its current form which has proven to be a highly effective tool to get to underlying issues and provide his clients with the tools to help themselves move forward in life.
