Dr. Jeff O’Driscoll Dr. Jeff O’Driscoll has cared for patients in the emergency department of a level-1 trauma center for 25 years. He’s seen people with nearly every imaginable illness or injury, and some that were almost unimaginable. Dr. O’Driscoll has welcomed souls newly arriving into this sphere of existence and bid farewell to those who were leaving. Sometimes he encountered individuals who hovered between. Dr. O’Driscoll started writing more than thirty years ago while still a medical student. His first published paper delved into ancient scripture and Old Testament theology. Later papers dealt with medical science, emergency department administration and service quality. His first book explored the life of an early nineteenth-century religious figure on the western frontier of the United States, and is documented with nearly 1,200 footnotes. Dr. O’Driscoll’s most recent book, Not Yet, explores the tender and instructive segues between the mortal and spiritual realms. Through his many shared-death experiences in the emergency department, and through what he likes to call Near-Life-Experiences, Dr. O’Driscoll offers insights into life, death and the connections between this life and the next. In 2017 Jeff also published his first novel, as well as a series of six children’s books inspired by his grandchildren. Jeff’s straightforward writing style stems from his childhood in rural Utah, his twenty-five-year career in emergency medicine, his thirty-year marriage, and the powerful lessons learned from five children. Dr. O’Driscoll received his medical degree at the University of Utah and completed a residency in internal medicine at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is board certified in internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Not Yet on Amazon.com |
