Stephen Hawley Martin In college, Stephen Hawley Martin was editor-in-chief of the yearbook, an all-conference center on the varsity football team, cartoonist for the college newspaper and rush chairman for his fraternity. After graduation, he went to work for an advertising agency and in just 18 months was handling that firm’s largest account, USAirways. Six years later he went into business with his brother, David, and The Martin Agency was formed. Named the hottest ad agency in the country by ADWEEK, the firm grew to $500 million in billings and today boasts such clients as GEICO auto insurance (gecko and caveman), UPS package delivery and Wal-Mart. Martin later sold his interest in the agency in order to devote his full energy to writing books and to the pursuit of his passion for digging into and unraveling life's mysteries. He now defines his life mission as being “to delight, enlighten and entertain seekers by revealing the truth about life on earth.” Four titles by Martin have won top book awards. In My Father’s House, a thriller, won the Writer’s Digest Book Award for Fiction, and it won First Prize for Fiction from Independent Publisher magazine. Death in Advertising, a whodunit, also won the Writer’s Digest Book Award, making Martin the only two-time winner of that prize. Recently, it was announced that his nonfiction title, A Witch in the Family –– already an award-winning finalist in the USA Book News national book awards –– had captured an unprecedented third Writer’s Digest Book Award for Martin. And his audio CD, Success! Through Auto Hypnosis, won first place for motivational and inspirational audio books from USA Book News. Click Here to Visit His Website |
