Dr. Michael Levy Dr. Michael S. Levy is a clinical psychologist who has worked in the behavioral health treatment field for over 20 years. During this time, he has provided clinical leadership and direction to a wide variety of programs with a commitment to ensuring that individuals served received a high quality and outstanding treatment experience. Dr. Levy has expertise in developing policies and procedures, supervising staff, implementing evidence-based practices, program evaluation, and helping programs to institute risk management and quality improvement initiatives. Presently, Dr. Levy is working for the North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts, where he is the director of addiction services within their outpatient department of psychiatry. Dr. Levy has also maintained a private psychotherapy practice for many years. He sees adolescents and adults, and is skilled in individual, couple, and family treatment. A particular area of expertise is helping individuals who struggle with substance use disorders, as well as those who suffer from substance use and a co-occurring psychiatric illness. He writes extensively on the treatment of substance use disorders and how to help people who suffer from both substance use and mental health conditions. He also has written articles to understand how people get stuck in certain ways of being in the world, and wrote an article on his experience when he volunteered to aid the disaster victims of Hurricane Katrina.
