In 2010, a semester away from graduating with a MBA, Floyd D.A. Miley, III faced the greatest storm in his life. Unemployed, penniless, and homeless, he was haunted by past failures, disappointments, and abandoned dreams. In what should have been the darkest moment of his life became his most enlightened moment. The poem A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes renewed his passion to pursue my dreams which ultimately led to discovering and accepting my purpose. He is now a rising author, life coach, and public speaker with an innovative approach to achieving the greatness God has predestined. Overcoming life's adversities is an acquired skill that Floyd D.A. Miley, III has mastered. As a youth, he escaped becoming a victim of generational curses to earn a football scholarship to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In college, he rose above life's and self-imposed challenges to start two years at defensive back for the Volunteers. He commuted two days a week from Nashville to Knoxville to earn his long awaited B.A. degree in Sociology. He received his MBA from Strayer University in 2010. While pursuing his masters, he lost his management job sending him into a financial crisis. In what should have been one of the darkest moments in his life, Floyd accepted his purpose. As an entrepreneur, author, speaker, or mentor, Floyd has committed more than twenty years to helping others endure and overcome life's challenges. His debut book, Recognize Your Greatness inspires, empowers, and encourages others to overcome obstacles, discover their unique purpose, and operate within their inherent greatness.
