Valentino Zubiri VALENTINO ZUBIRI is both a visual artist and memoirist for the most part. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and also has skills in publishing, programming and mathematics. He has also volunteered in theatre for close to three decades, both onstage and the production side. He has also had training in music, filmmaking and martial arts. As an artist, he currently makes one of a kind, ball-jointed, poseable porcelain dolls. As a joke he would say, “Do you know me? I’m Dollman... the Musical... A Memoir of an Artist as a Dollmaker... soon to be on a Broadway stage near you.” He has been told by a few experts that he is only one of less than 20 doll artists in the world who currently make this form of contemporary fine art. As a memoirist, Val is currently the world’s living contemporary artist with the most memoirs, with 4, and with more than 5 in development. Val is also currently writing a science fiction series. Hocus Pocus Lately is Val’s first paranormal memoir. It devotes a large portion to his discovery and implementation of the psychic healing techniques he learned from a genuine psychic surgeon. This is a journey that started three decades ago, which only made full circle when his father developed pancreatic cancer in 2013. By writing about psychic healing as a memoir, he working to become a fixture in the paranormal field, while avoiding intense scrutiny from regulators and members of the more scientific community. Val shares the secret knowledge and techniques related to psychic healing with his readers without the need to write a how-to book which he himself would find questionable. Val also garnered attention in 1996, in Chicago, for introducing the “AIDS Crane” - an artistic statement. He said that in Asia, it is believed that if you make 1000 origami paper cranes, your wish will be granted. He attached the red AIDS ribbon to the beak of the crane because he wished for a cure. This was in 1996, when he went on television, radio and print and collaborated with nonprofit organizations for HIV/AIDS Awareness. Val's Website |
