Robert Dubac Robert Dubac draws on decades of showbiz experience as a writer, actor and stand-up comic to create one-man shows that explore political ideas, social mores and the complexity of the human experience with unparalleled wit and humor. Shifting effortlessly from one hilarious character to the next, he takes every audience on a journey into his mindscape, letting them ride his train of thought through a route that is somehow both circuitous and direct. His most recent production, Free Range Thinking searches for truth in a world that runs on spin and hype. His earlier outings in the solo-performance theatrical arena; Sex, Politics… and Other Headaches and The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron? brought Mr. Dubac critical acclaim and respect as a force to be reckoned with in the genre. The Male Intellect – his hysterical tour de force that tackles the babble of the sexes – has become a worldwide phenomenon, having been translated into dozens of languages and performed in just as many countries. He continues to draw audiences to all three shows, having become a traveling one-man repertory company, the texts and the material as fresh and insightful as they were on their opening nights. In addition to his extensive and ongoing artistic endeavors, Dubac found significant success in the mainstream entertainment industry. He appeared in many feature films including After the Game, Cold Ground, Sketch Artist, Stitches, Innocent Obsession and The Rookie. His TV credits range from comedic turns in sit-coms like Growing Pains and Diff’rent Strokes to drama, with appearances on programs such as Life Goes On and Jack and Mike. He even worked in the melodramatic style of ABC’s soap opera, Loving. Earlier in his career Mr. Dubac worked as a stand-up comic, a magician and the opening act to royalty of the music world. He toured with Kenny Loggins, Linda Rondstadt and Jimmy Buffet to name just a few. He was also chosen to study with a select group of actors under the personal tutelage of the late great Sanford Meisner. Robert's Facebook Page Robert's Website |
