Join Valerie as she talks with Laura Kaeppeler, Miss America 2012, about her amazing year of service as well as what this years contestants can expect at the pageant. Plus, Laura will share her tips to marketing your platform during the personal interview and how to ace your on-stage question. We’re kicking off our Countdown to Miss America and you won’t want to miss it!

Laura Kaeppeler Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Laura Kaeppeler was crowned Miss America 2012 on January 14, 2012 on ABC. This year, she has traveled the country appearing on numerous national and local television programs, making corporate appearances, and talking about MAO’s national platform, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, her personal platform of Circles of Support – Mentoring Children of Incarcerated Parents, and focusing on promoting education for young women. When her year is over, Laura plans to pursue a law degree with an emphasis on childhood advocacy law. Prior to the pageant, she earned an undergraduate degree in music and vocal performance at Carthage College. Miss America Website
