Alexandra Rodriguez
Alexandra Rodriguez was crowned Mrs. Texas International 2008 on April 13, 2008 at the beautiful Scottish Rite Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas. Born and raised in Europe, Alexandra immigrated in the United States almost 9 years ago and is now a proud, and devoted, US citizen. Alexandra is a proud wife and mother. She is married to Rene Rodriguez, a 20 year veteran and supervisor from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD). Together, they have a beautiful 2 year old baby girl, Demi. No stranger to the spotlight, Alexandra is a former ice skater/performer for Disney. She is also an accomplished model and actress. Like her husband, Alexandra is also a former member of the law enforcement family. Beacuse of the disastrous incidents she witnessed first-hand, she is instinctively drawn to the concerns of “Narco-Terrorism”. This concern became more of a passion when she became a mother. Her goal is to help all children who are at great risk of the ever-forging enemy of drugs, alcohol, and substance abuse. As Mrs. Texas, Alexandra has dedicated her reign to raising awareness and to the prevention of “Narco-Terrorism”. She believes that by opening the lines of communication and through education, people from all walks of life will be able to recognize, and ultimately understand, the causes/risks of addiction. Education will also introduce prevention techniques and treatment options. To promote her cause, Alexandra is endorsing the efforts of The National Institute on Drug Abuse. NIDA supports most of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. As part of this national alliance, Alexandra is able to expand her anti-drug campaign and reach the "national community".
