A Fix for Our Broken Legal System Marie Gryphon PhD is an attorney, public policy expert, and Senior Fellow at the Center for Legal Policy at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. Ms. Gryphon believes that the US legal system is often too expensive, inefficient and unfair. She outlines the possible benefits of a loser pays system, in which the losing party in a civil case must pay the legal expenses of the winner, and explains how this would dramatically reduce the number of nuisance suits.
