The markets this week focused on “Sovereign Debt.” From an investor’s point of view, that’s primarily the bonds and associated debt instruments of European Countries. For the past month all eyes have been on Greece, this week the markets began to evaluate Spain.

We know that these are difficult times for most investors.

The year, 2008, saw the greatest destruction of wealth in history. Markets reeled, and our countrys financial center was shaken to its core. We all have a great deal of concern over our future.

Gone are the safe assumptions of last year. Mountain-charts, passive investing and a clear path to retirement seem a distant memory. Our survival will require a new, hard- headed approach to investing, a realistic look at our economy.
