How a Pet Magazine Became a Mission
Bookmark and Share
Pet lovers, do you read the magazine, "Tails"? I do because it always has great interviews, discusses timely, relevant issues and has great resources for pet owners. Did you know that this magazine is free and is found in 16 different cities across the United States? This week's show, will feature the founder of the magazine, Janice Brown. We'll talk about how her rescue of a stray dog inspired the creation of the magazine and how as a company now, it has grown to embrace the mission of encouraging responsible pet guardianship, and providing solutions for making a difference in the lives of animals. We'll talk about how to be good guardians and how we all can be part of the solutions.

Janice Brown
Award-winning publisher, mother of three children (as well as the proud owner of two dogs and two cats) and active board member of more than one animal shelter, Janice Brown is a woman of action. "People will believe what you do, not what you say,'' she said. True to her philosophy, there is no stopping the cheerful, down-to-earth (and equally determined) Brown when it comes to what she sees as her underlying mission and the founding principle behind her overwhelmingly successful regional publication, Tails: helping animals. The founder of Tails Media Group, Inc., which provides pet owners with articles and resources, and sponsors local events, Brown launched ChicagoTails in 2000.
