Linda Foley
Linda Foley founded the ITRC after her employer stole her identity. Upon realizing the complexity of issues that identity theft victims face, Linda chose to go public with her case and subsequently established the ITRC in 1999. A former teacher and a published writer since 1981, Foley develops and writes the numerous comprehensive publications on ITRC’s website which are used by the national office and network of trained volunteers. Foley provides testimony and information for national and state conferences and taskforces, and remains a resource for legislators. Foley has appeared on numerous major television news show, several talk shows and is widely quoted by major newspapers, radio stations and magazines. Besides teaching, Linda has a background in marketing, personnel, training and small business management. She is a recipient of the prestigious Foundation for Improvement of Justice Award, the 2004 National Crime Victim Service Award presented by U. S. Attorney General for the DOJ, and has received commendations by U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein and former California Governor Gray Davis.
