| Frank Farley, PhD Frank Farley is an internationally recognized authority in psychology and human behavior. He is the Laura. H. Carnell professor of educational psychology at Temple University and teaches research design, among other topics. Earlier, he was at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was born and raised in Canada, where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Saskachewan. Farley received his PhD in psychology from the University of London in 1966. Farley is a fellow of APA, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the New York Academy of Sciences, and is one of the founders of the Federation of Behavioral, Psychological and Cognitive Sciences. His scholarship examines extreme behavior, including creative risk-taking, arguing for its centrality in the success of science and societies. He is experienced in working with the media, and has been interviewed by outlets including Time, Newsweek, U.S. News, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Business Week, “The Today Show,” “20/20,” “Good Morning America” and CNN.
