The Gatehouse News Service John Supinie talks about the great recruiting year the Big 10 seems to be having, and also takes a look at the 2nd half of the Big 10 season, and gives his take on who he thinks are the teams to beat in the conference. Then WGNs Dave Kaplan tells Boz and Mr. G all about the upcoming McDonalds City/Suburban showdown, and also shares his thoughts on the Illini and the Big 10.

David Kaplan Kaplan
David Kaplan has been with WGN Radio since April of 1995, as a sports reporter, and now, as the host of Sports Central, heard weeknights from 7:00-9:00p.m. During that time, he has earned six Achievement In Radio (A.I.R.) Awards, including three for best sports talk show and two for best sportscast. He was named "Newsfinder of the Year" by the Associated Press for breaking several major stories. During the basketball season, he is a play-by-play and color commentator on Fox Sports covering college basketball. He also does work for Fox Sports Chicago throughout the year. Before coming to WGN Radio, David was midday host on WMVP-AM in Chicago after it adopted an all-sports format in November of 1993. He has completed television work on ESPN 2, SportsChannel, Creative Sports, and Prime Network. He is a former college basketball coach at Northern Illinois University and was a regional scout for both the Indiana Pacers and the Seattle Supersonics of the NBA.



 
Mike Mullins
Mike is an equity member of the Chicago Mercantile exchange, and owner of MLNS brokerage. He founded the Downers Grove Nomads basketball program 15 years ago for 4th thru 8th graders. He then founded the Illinois Wolves traveling basketball program 11 years ago for 9th thru 11th graders. Illinois Wolves charges no fees and its players have earned over 6 million dollars in scholarships since first graduating class went on to college in 2004. All coaches are unpaid volunteers. Mike is married and is the proud father of three sons - Brendan 23, Bryan 22, and Michael J. 19.

His reports are published in the Peoria Journal Star, the Springfield State Journal-Register, the Rockford Register Star and elsewhere throughout the state and the Midwest. John began covering Illini football full-time in 1997. He's also covered Illinois basketball since 1991. So John has seen everything from an 0-11 season to the Rose Bowl, from practice sessions at the Ubben Basketball Complex to the Final Four.
